My happy Kaffe Fassett inspired quilt
Quilted and bound – two of the best words in the quilting world!
It takes some courage, or some liquid courage, to cut into a stash of fabrics from Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably and Philip Jacobs.
When I finally committed to the cut, I was all in. And boy was it worth it.
The pattern is Shine from the October 2015 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. It was designed by Jane Davidson of quiltjane.com
This was quilted by Lea Ingram here on Kauai.
Your quilt is fragrant with color! Somehow you made that possible! A real beauty!

Fantastic! I love all of the colour and Kaffe Fassett is my favourite – that must have taken some courage to cut into that stash – I still have mine intact but I do have plans for it, ha ha. The pattern is gorgeous too. I would love to see a photo of the whole quilt to get a good idea of the pattern and quilt as a whole – is that possible?

I hope to get a photo of the whole thing. I need someone with a full wingspan to hold it up. It has 9 blocks total.

Ok…I’m drooling right now, pulling my hair and stomping my feet !!!! My Goosh Carole this is beautiful you have out done yourself. I am always curious to know what you do with your beautiful quilts after they are completed. I hang mine with a sign..”don’t let your human hands even think about making contact with this beauty”. :-)…

I know what you mean! It’s hard to let anyone touch them, let alone use them. I keep a box of disposable latex gloves on hand for that very reason. After filling out a questionaire about recent travel outside of the US, admirers may buy an incidental insurance policy and then put on the gloves to further examine the quilts. 😜
